| Hipomi used to display her hippo collection at home, where many of her friends came to see them. In 1993, she held the show on the week of March 3rd, when the Doll Festival is held in Japan, and named it the Hippo Festival. In 1996, her collection having become too big for her living room, she held the 4th Hippo Festival at a gallery. Since then, the Hippo Festival is held every four years, during the year of the Olympics. |
